Ramanan : “Do not exploit the fate of 33 million Malaysians for narrow political agendas”

Kuala Lumpur : Malaysia is a unique nation where Malays, Chinese, Indians, Ibans and Kadazans have long coexisted in harmony. Any statement, post or commentary deliberately intended to provoke must be stopped immediately.
When there are no major issues to be weaponised against the achievements of the MADANI Government, it is becoming increasingly clear that certain quarters are attempting to distract the public by stoking narrow racial sentiments. They are deliberately inciting provocation and spreading narratives of hatred to serve the agendas and interests of particular groups.
These irresponsible actions by a small minority appear to be an attempt to exploit the fate and future of more than 33 million Malaysians. In pursuit of their own narrow interests, they seek to undermine the harmony that has been built over generations by the people of this nation — reducing it to a tool of political manipulation.
For decades, Malaysians have demonstrated that differences in background are no barrier to peaceful coexistence and mutual respect. This is the true strength of our nation and the foundation upon which Malaysia MADANI’s progress and development are built.
The success of the MADANI Government under the leadership of YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim today is the result of policy stability, the courage to implement meaningful reforms, and the trust that the people have placed in the nation’s leadership.
It must be emphasised that the Federal Constitution guarantees the rights of all citizens while recognising the unique historical and social framework of this country. It is the principles of constitutional supremacy and the rule of law that ensure the nation remains peaceful, harmonious and stable.
However, freedom of expression must never be abused to incite or divide the people.
The Government will act firmly and will not compromise against any party that attempts to threaten the peace and well-being of the people, particularly those who exploit the 3R issues (Royal Institutions, Religion and Race) for narrow political gain.
