Actor Vijay to Contest Perambur Assembly Seat Under TVK Banner
Chennai: Amid widespread speculation of a possible alliance between actor Vijay’s Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) and the National Democratic Alliance (NDA)—which includes key players AIADMK and BJP—TVK has independently announced its candidates for the upcoming Tamil Nadu state assembly elections, slated for 23 April 2026.
According to the list of candidates released today (March 17), Vijay will be contesting from Perambur, a state assembly constituency that falls within the North Chennai Parliamentary segment.
TVK leader Adhav Arjuna has been fielded in Villivakkam, while Secretary General Bussy Anand will contest from T. Nagar. All three constituencies—Perambur, Villivakkam, and T. Nagar—are situated in Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu. With this announcement, TVK becomes the first party in the state to declare its candidates for the upcoming assembly elections.
