Opinion: “Political parties need to think & act better”
– R.Masilamani
All Malay political parties in Malaysia are in disarray.
The trounced Rafizi Ramli’s (pic) proposed new Party itself may become a disappointment.
All Indian & Chinese history in Malaysia is unknown to the new generation of Malays. They have been prepared by the total system to think Malay first, not Malaysian first. This design has led the country to disunity, division, and selfish grouping.
However, I hold the hope and belief that such an unnatural design will naturally fail.
Now the Malays themselves seem not to like disturbing Malaysia’s stability, beauty, and image. The original Malaysia, where the commingling of different races, religions, cultures, and languages has given it a special status in the world. Why should we ape the Middle East, the US, China or India to shape our nation? We should work on our own model and strength and build a nation that can easily serve as an example to the world.
Looking at the mismanagement of the historical greatness of failing countries, we must become cautious, clever, and constructive to emerge as a different, viable new nation.
Our politicians do not seem to have this broad-based view, and they are manipulating some strengths and weaknesses to suit their narrow perspectives, which seems to have started ruining the nation.
I suggest that all new coalitions of political parties must think carefully and keep Malaysia’s unique nature intact and advancing.
One important aspect is to campaign for Malaysia without emphasising region, religion, or race. Work towards one Malaysia where there is equitable division of opportunities and a share of leadership.
I believe Malaysia has reached a state of stability in all respects, allowing it to focus on building such an equitable, stable and peaceful coexistence.
Looking at the world today, Malaysia is much more advanced in moving in this direction. WE CANNOT AFFORD TO LOSE THIS OPPORTUNITY.
If we miss this chance, our future will be spoiled. What are countries like the US,, Singapore Germany etc. They are not all as lucky as Malaysia in the various endowments Malaysia naturally has.
I am still optimistic in my outlook. I think we always need to be like this in our core to keep the world moving upward. Malaysia just needs this now. Let us think and act together. We will certainly be successful.
Malaysia has a better future. Malaysians must build on it, not kill it.
Our politicians must start thinking along this line.
