Saravanan briefs MIC CWC members via video message on MACC charges!
KUALA LUMPUR: Amid reports that the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is set to file charges in court tomorrow (28 August 2026) today against MIC Deputy President and Tapah Member of Parliament Datuk Seri M. Saravanan, the former minister has issued a detailed video briefing to MIC Central Working Committee (CWC) members.
The video message has since been widely shared across social media platforms.
In the video, Saravanan explained the initiatives and executive actions he undertook during his tenure as Minister of Human Resources to assist the business and industrial sectors in recruiting foreign workers.
He highlighted that both key individuals associated with the investigation, Syed Amirul and his wife, Puteri Nor Alaina Binti Nohuddin, had previously executed Statutory Declarations affirming that no financial transactions or direct communications regarding the matter ever occurred between them and Saravanan. He further noted that Syed Amirul unexpectedly passed away on July 28, 2026.
Saravanan expressed dismay that despite the MACC having previously classified the matter as “No Further Action” (NFA), the agency has now reopened the file to bring charges against him.
