Ramanan denies he is ‘Mr R’ and slams Rafizi as failed leader!
Sungai Buloh: PKR Vice President and Sungai Buloh MP Datuk Seri Ramanan Ramakrishnan has categorically denied allegations linking him to a “corporate mafia” scandal involving a sum of RM9.95 million.
Ramanan, who is also the Human Resources Minister, held a press conference at his Sungai Buloh Parliament service centre, to clear the air surrounding the issue, which has become a hot topic in the media.
Ramanan challenged the accuser, businessman Victor Chin, to clarify the identity of “Mr R,” the individual allegedly involved in the transactions. “I have not on a single occasion met Victor Chin,” Ramanan stated, questioning how he could receive millions from someone he does not know. He further clarified that he holds no public shareholdings in the companies mentioned in the claims.
Ramanan suggested that the allegations might be politically motivated, citing potential internal party friction and noting that a former PKR leader could be behind the claims. He emphasised that as a PKR Vice President, it is his duty to protect the party’s reputation, which is at stake due to these “baseless” allegations.
In response to the claims, PKR members from the Sungai Buloh division have filed formal police reports, urging a full investigation into Victor Chin’s allegations. Ramanan remained defiant, asserting that such “continuous allegations” would not trigger a “political tsunami” or overthrow the current government.
Ramanan also said that only Victor Chin will know who Mr R is, so he should not continue to add more puzzles to this matter and should clarify who the real Mr R is. He should not hesitate to disclose any documents that support his allegations, Ramanan added. Ramanan also said that such allegations of corporate mafia, since they are made against a PKR Parliament member, undoubtedly put the party’s reputation at stake. So it is his responsibility, as the party’s Vice President, to clear the allegations made against the party’s Member of Parliament.
Ramanan also alleged that former Deputy President of PKR, Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli, could be behind these allegations, branding him as a failed leader. Ramanan also said that despite making such continuous allegations against PKR, no one can create a political tsunami in the country. Such continuous allegations cannot overthrow the duly elected government of the day. PKR members from the Sungai Buloh division have also filed police reports, urging the police to investigate the allegations made by Victor Chin. The police should bring out the truth in this matter, they said.
