Vigneswaran inaugrates MIC’s election machinery in Perling & Bukit Batu!
Johor Baru: Gearing up to the upcoming Johor State Assembly elections, MIC President Tan Sri S.A.Vigneswaran, on Saturday (13 June 2026), launched the party’s election machinery in Perling and Bukit Batu. The move confirms speculations that both seats will be contested by MIC. Perling is a new seat for MIC, while Bukit was contested by MIC during the 2022 Johor elections. However, MIC failed to win Bukit Batu, losing the seat by a thin margin of 137 votes.
The Perling event was also attended by Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed, Deputy Chairman of UMNO Johor, and other BN component party leaders. MIC Deputy President Datuk Seri M.Saravanan also attended the event.
MIC Vice President today announced that the MIC has been allocated 4 state seats to contest under the BN ticket.
