Rayer lodges police report against Zamri Vinoth

George Town: DAP member of parliament for Jelutong (Pulau Pinang) has lodged a police report against Zamri Vinoth.

The following is Rayer’s posting on his face book page: On 3/3/2026 after returning to Penang from Kuala Lumpur after a busy day with matters in Court and in Parliament when I almost reached my home ,I read a post uploaded in the Facebook by the account owner named Zamri Vinoth which was provocative on religion that can cause racial and religious tensions as well as tendencies to disturb the peace , order and well-being of our beloved country consisting of people of multiple races, religion and ethnicities. The  Facebook post of Zamri Vinoth has once again incited and threatened to demolish another Hindu temple in front of Bukit Mertajam Hospital, in Penang on 7th March 2026 which is next Saturday at 3pm.

As a Member of Parliament and as the Chairman of the Penang Hindu Wakaf Board, I am responsible to act immediately and therefore I have made a police report at Penang North East District Police Headquarters. I have also briefed the investigating police officers on this matter.

I call on the Royal Malaysian Police, the Minister of the Home Affairs, the Cabinet  and the Prime Minister to act immediately before individuals like Zamri Vinoth trigger another event that can ignite racial tension and cause our country to descend into chaos.

If firm and immediate action of arresting, detaining and framing charges against Za Vinoth is not taken despite his action to provoke tensions on religion and race, then there will be a perception and assumption that Zamri Vinoth was immune and gets special treatment and that he is “above the law”.

I also call on all Malaysians who love this country and value and evaluate the peace and well-being of our country’s people, consisting of multiple races, religions and ethnicities, to continue to make a police reports against Zamri Vinoth in order to maintain peace in our beloved country.
