Dato’ Seran Nadarajah elected as the 3rd Vice President of FAM

Seremban: Sports veteran and lawyer Dato’ Seran Nadarajah of Negeri Sembilan was elected third Vice President of the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) at its annual general meeting held in Petaling Jaya on Thursday, September 17. He will serve in that position until 2029.

The elections for the new executive committee saw Dato’ Abdul Ghani Hassan elected as the new President of FAM. Notably, Dato’ Seran is the sole representative from the Indian community in the newly elected executive committee lineup.

Dato’ Seran expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity. He attributed his growth in the sports arena and eventual election to national-level sports administration to the mentorship of the late Tan Sri S. Subramaniam, under whom he served as Secretary during Tan Sri Subramaniam’s tenure as President of the Malaysian Indian Sports Council (MISC).

Dato’ Seran highlighted that the platform provided by MISC, along with the networks built under Tan Sri Subramaniam’s leadership, played a decisive role in enabling his advancement into national sports governing bodies like FAM.

Currently serving as the President of the Negeri Sembilan Indian Sports Association, Seran reaffirmed his commitment to leveraging his roles across various organisations to elevate Malaysian football, with a particular focus on creating opportunities for Indian youth to excel in the sport.

Reflecting on his broader experience in sports administration, Seran also noted his appointment as an arbitrator for the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne, Switzerland. He proudly shared that he is the first Malaysian appointed to the international sports dispute tribunal.
