Ganabatirau raises questions to PM in Parliament on MACC

Kuala Lumpur : On Tuesday, 3rd March 2026, DAP member of Parliament for Klang Ganabatirau Veraman raised questions in Parliament to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, on issues relating to MACC. Ganabatirau’s questions centered on the total amount of money and assets successfully recovered by MACC for the period 2020–2025 in cases of corruption and abuse of power, as well as a comparison before and after the Madani Government.
Based on the answers provided by the PM, Ganabatirau said there has been a significant increase in asset recovery since 2023. Among the figures stated were:
• 2018: RM37 million
• 2019: RM1.2 billion
• 2023–2025: RM15.5 billion
This action is carried out through the cooperation of officers from various agencies including SPRM, LHDN, JKDM, PDRM, KPDN and Bank Negara.
Several high-profile cases were also mentioned involving enforcement officers, former ministers, senior military officials as well as investigations against corporate officials. This shows a more stern and aggressive approach to fighting corruption since 2023.
In reference to Bloomberg’s international media report, the Prime Minister informed that an investigation is underway to find whether there are evidences to the allegations raised.
The Attorney General’s report is expected to be completed in the near future before any further decisions are made.
