MIC wins Kahang again

Johor Bahru: In the Johor state elections held today, 11 July 2026, the Kahang constituency, one of the four contested by the Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC) has declared its winner.

MIC candidate V. Rugendran secured a decisive victory by capturing 15,251 votes. In contrast, his opponents faced a tough race. Imam Sabri from Pakatan Harapan-Amanah garnered 3,238 votes, while the PAS candidate, representing Perikatan Nasional, received only 2,771 votes.

With this outcome, MIC has successfully retained its hold on the Kahang constituency for another consecutive term, winning by a substantial majority of 12,013 votes.
