Kulasegaran hosts round table discussion on Hindu Temples
Kuala Lumpur: DAP member of Parliament for Ipoh Barat and Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s department, M. Kulasegaran, held a round table discussion at the Parliament house yesterday (25 February 2026) with some of the key Indian lawmakers and leaders.
Sivamalar Genapathy, former Political Secretary to then Minister Zaliha Mustafa, who also participated in the discussion, posted on her social media stating that the roundtable discussion hosted by M. Kulasegaran, centred on long-standing challenges involving Hindu places of worship, particularly those located on private or government land without formal approval. The discussion also included matters relating to relocation and regulatory compliance.
“The session marked an important step forward, bringing together bipartisan representatives from Democratic Action Party (DAP), Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) and Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC). It reflects a collective commitment to address this long-standing issue through constructive dialogue and responsible engagement,” Sivamalar said.
