Narendra Modi visits Vice President C.P.Radhakrishnan on Chithirai Tamil New Year day
New Delhi: The Tamil community and many sections of the Hindu and Sikh communities celebrated the birth of the new year today (April 14). For the Tamil community, this auspicious day, which is the first day of the Hindu calendar’s month of Chithirai, is significant. The Malaysian Tamil community also celebrated the new year by visiting temples and offering special prayers at home.
In India, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited India’s Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan to wish him New Year greetings, joining him in his prayers. Radhakrishnan hails from Tamil Nadu.
“On this special New Year’s Day, I met and conveyed my greetings to the Vice President of India, Thiru C P Radhakrishnan. I pray that it turns out to be a wonderful year filled with good health and happiness,” Modi posted on his social media pages with photographs of him having prayers at Radhakrishnan’s house.
